Biographical Sketches of Board Members

 
Sue Collins is a long-time member of the ASQ Sacramento Chapter and has served on the board as the Education Chair for two years and Programs Chair three years.  She is currently the ASQ605 Chair.  She has a dual expertise in Quality & Training and is an active member of and Past President for the Sacramento Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD).  She has also served as a Malcolm Baldrige Examiner for the California State Quality Award Program. Sue is currently an Internal Quality Consultant working for Health Net Federal Services in Rancho Cordova where her primary focus is on Quality training and awareness and team implementation and facilitation.  Prior to Health Net, Sue worked for Delta Dental as a Training Supervisor. She was also a Senior Consultant for an Organizational Development and Quality Improvement Consulting firm where she spent six years serving both private and public sector clients specializing in consulting and training in Quality, Continuous Process Improvement, Customer Service, Teambuilding, Leadership, Ethics & Values and Personal Development. She has a B.S. in Business Administration and an MBA. She holds ASQ Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) certifications.
 

Natalie Vollrath  is currently the Quality and Regulatory Manager for New Star Lasers, a medical device manufacturer in Roseville. She was previously the Quality Manager for Biogeneral, Inc. in San Diego. She has been a member of ASQ since 1990 and is the past Chair (2008-2009) and current Internet Chair for the Sacramento section as well as continuing on as the Audit Chair for the San Diego section. She holds the CQA, CQE, CSQE, and CMQ/OE certifications.



Sara Wohlfrom has a strong medical services back ground, starting 4 year in Pharmacy billing and moving on to Facility billing before being hired by Blue Shield of California (BSC). Sara began with BSC in 1985 in the Woodland site in Customer Service. She then moved on to train and audit of both Claims and Customer Service. Within BSC, Sara has participated 2 major company projects, the System Upgrade Training team and the Re-Engineering Training team. She then transferred to the Folsom site in 1994 as an Quality Auditor in Performance Measurement. In 2004, Sara transferred to BSC Internal Audit as a Senior Auditor, further enhancing her scope as a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ).  Sara is currently the Secretary for ASQ Section 605.

Rob Saunders, CQMgr, CQE, CQA has been working in the quality field for over 20 years with experience ranging from a Dimensional Inspector, a Supplier Quality Engineer, to a Quality Manager. Due to the traveling Rob has had, he lacks encompassing the globe by the distance from the East bank of India to Shanghai, China. He relocated to Sacramento in the fall of 1999 and joined the Sacramento Section in February of 2000. When first arriving in Sacramento Rob was assigned to Hewlett Packard's, Americas Integration Center in Roseville as a Quality Engineer. He currently works at Delta Dental as a Senior Quality Analyst. Rob has served several volunteer positions with the section including Past Section Chair and Program Chair. Currently Rob serves ASQ as a Deputy Regional Director for Region 6, and the Certification Chair for the Sacramento Section. Rob is also involved in activities with California Council for Excellence, (CCE), who administers the California Awards for Performance Excellence and Sacramento Area Council for Excellence, (SacE), a regional council for CCE.

Terrie Madruga has been working in the quality and manufacturing field for over 32 years. She has worked with Agilent Technologies and Hewlett Packard with positions ranging from Semiconductor Manufacturing Supervisor, Quality Management Internal Auditor, ISO-9000 Lead Auditor and Quality Systems/ Customer Satisfaction Manager. She was also was a member of the World-Wide Quality Management Team while with Hewlett Packard. She relocated to Sacramento in the spring of 2003 and joined the Sacramento ASQ Section 605 in June of 2003. She is currently the Quality Manager for the Federal Services Division of Delta Dental of California in Rancho Cordova. Terrie currently serves ASQ as a Recruiting Chair for the ASQ605 chapter.

James Crawford
  joined Delta in September of 2003 as a quality auditor and holds a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification and is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality. James is also qualified as a CAPE Examiner, through the California Council for Excellence. His previous experience was at EDS as an internal auditor and document controller for ISO certification, and an OPD Graduate at Electronic Data Systems. He was also a Team Leader in Computer Operations (Mainframe and Midrange).


Leila Bijan has significant experience in leading process improvement and operational excellence programs in industry, academia, and private sector. She has recently led and deployed numerous enabling and cost saving projects for H.B. Fuller in US. Before assuming this role, she served as a management consultant for National Research Council Canada-Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) and UBC Technology Transfer office, where she developed strategic plans to enhance commercialization of research. Leila has significant experience with the pipeline of the technology development from laboratory to production scale and product launch in the market for various industries including chemical/biochemical, food, pulp & paper, and polymer. Leila is the author of numerous journal articles, conference proceedings, green papers, and reports. The results of her researches have been presented in various international conferences in U.S., Canada, and Europe. Leila is a certified six sigma black belt. She has a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from UBC Sauder School of Business.
 

Eileen Clark  recently retired from Delta Dental of California as Director of Service Excellence. Her main responsibilities were the management of the Service Exceeding Excellence initiatives, Quality Management/Assurance, Process Improvement projects, employee programs, customer satisfaction survey process, coordinated theredesign of Delta’s Customer Service &Claims Processing training based upon her experience and knowledge of ASTD’s adult learning theory and practice. Prior to joining Delta she worked for Honeywell H&BC division as their first Quality Trainer and Facilitator. She became a certified trainer in the Xerox problem solving and quality improvement model. Eileen has had numerous speaking engagements and training assignments.  

With more than 15 years of comprehensive experience and study in organizational change and development in a team-based culture, Eileen is skilled in training and motivating individuals and teams towards personal and organizational improvement. Her expertise in the theory and practice of quality management is particularly effective in assessing and resolving operational and organizational problems to increase team member productivity.  A special area of interest for Eileen has been the development of the teams and has been involved with the California Team Excellence Award (CTEA) program for seven years, as a judge and member of the board. Eileen has extensive experience in networking with local businesses to improve performance and community involvement. At Delta she was the change agent in bringing Delta to recognition for their corporate commitment to employee volunteerism.
